Man charged with felonious assault
FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP – A 75-year-old Bark River man was charged with felonious assault following an argument with his fiance this past weekend, according to police and court records.
Gerald Dale Cameron, of 3259 13th Lane, Bark River, was arrested for assault with a dangerous weapon for allegedly threatening to stab a female with a pocket knife around 10:12 p.m. Sunday in their residence, according to the Delta County Sheriff Department.
The two were arguing when Cameron allegedly pulled out his pocket knife and made several stabbing motions towards the woman who stabbed him twice in the hand with a knitting needle, stated the incident report.
Cameron was arraigned in Delta County District Court on Monday and charged with the four-year felony. He was released from police custody on a $1,000 personal recognizance bond.
His preliminary examination is scheduled for Jan. 2. in district court.
