Meth lab confiscated in Ford River Township

FORD RIVER TOWNSHIP – A methamphetamine lab was confiscated at a Ford River Township home after police had conducted a well-being check at the residence on Thursday, according to the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team (UPSET).

Delta County Sheriff deputies were called to a home at 4477 M-35 to check on the well being of a resident. Once at the home, deputies gained information regarding a one-pot meth lab in the residence, according to a news release from UPSET.

Upon the drafting and execution of a search warrant, UPSET detectives seized components for manufacturing meth and transported the hazardous waste to a holding site.

Other agencies assisting were the Ford River Township Volunteer Fire Department and Escanaba Public Safety.

A male and a female were arrested at the scene on unrelated charges, according to the news release. Additional charges may be forthcoming pending a review of the case by the Delta County prosecutor’s office.
