Raymond F. LaFreniere
ESCANABA – Raymond F. LaFreniere, 56, 825 S. 26th St., Apt. 101, Escanaba, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 25, 2013, at his home following an illness.
He was born on Nov. 19, 1957 in Detroit, son of Raymond and Evelyn (Dittmar) LaFreniere. Raymond was raised in Detroit until moving to Newberry in 1973. He graduated from Newberry High School and in 1978, he relocated to Escanaba.
On Aug. 30, 1980, Raymond married Laurie LeClaire at the First United Methodist Church in Escanaba.
Raymond worked in Sturgeon Bay, Wis., for a shipyard and for Chicago and Northwestern Railroad. He also was employed as a cook for a variety of different restaurants in the Escanaba area.
He enjoyed music and playing the banjo, guitar, harmonica, and other musical instruments.
Survivors include his wife, Laurie of Escanaba; three sons, Raymond, Jacob and Christopher of Escanaba; and a sister, Catherine Seymour of Escanaba.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Paulson; and his in-laws, Sodie and William LeClaire.
Visitation will be on Sunday, Dec. 29, from 1-2:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The funeral service will follow at 2:30 p.m. with Pastor Lewis Hague officiating.
Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery.
