Harold C. Duncan
ESCANABA – Harold C. Duncan, 91, lifelong resident of Escanaba, passed away Tuesday afternoon, Dec. 31, 2013, at the Pine Haven Rest Home in Gladstone.
Harold was born March 18, 1922, in Escanaba, the son of Charles K. and Christine (Dishna) Duncan. He was raised in Escanaba and attended the Escanaba schools. Following school, Harold served for four years in the United States Army. On Feb. 9, 1948, Harold was united in marriage to the former Elaine June Rouse at St. Patrick Catholic Church and together the couple made their home and spent their entire lives together in Escanaba. Harold was employed for the City of Escanaba in the sanitation department for an impressive 40 years. His loving wife, Elaine, preceded him in death on May 12, 2009.
Survivors include sister-in-law, Nadine Rouse of Escanaba; also surviving are many nieces, nephew and cousins.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Christine; wife, Elaine; four brothers; and three sisters.
In honoring Harold’s wishes, formal funeral services will not be conducted. Harold will be laid to rest, next to his loving wife Elaine in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
