Bitter cold, low wind chills continue in Esky

ESCANABA – Bitter cold temperatures plagued the area last night but residents can expect a slight reprieve later in the week.

Monday night into Tuesday morning temperatures in Delta County hovered around -17 degrees in most places with wind chills in Escanaba reaching -31 degrees.

Conditions are expected to remain bitterly cold in the Escanaba area tonight with a low temperature of -7 degrees and southwesterly winds dropping wind chills to -30 degrees.

Wednesday temperatures will rise to a high of 13 degrees and a low of 7 degrees. With the warm up comes a 40 percent chance of snow.

The warm up will continue into Thursday where scattered snow will continue and temperatures will reach 20 degrees.

Temperatures are then expected to drop slightly for the remainder of the week with lows hovering around 0 degrees and highs in the mid-teens.
