ESCANABA – Donald Guindon was born in Escanaba, to the late Henry and Elizabeth Guindon on Sept. 19, 1952.
Donald was one of five children. His parents moved to Illinois in 1957 and eventually moved to Hazel Crest, where Donald lived most of his life.
He graduated from Thornton Township High School in Harvey, Ill.
Donald married Rose Kowalski on Feb. 23, 1980. Their first child, Amanda, was born Dec. 27, 1981. Their son, Michael, was born March 4, 1983.
Donald worked as a machine operator at Continental Midland (a fastener manufacturer for the automotive industry) in Park Forest for over 25 years.
Donald and Rose became proud grandparents when their daughter Amanda and her husband David White gave birth to Amber Rose on Oct. 3, 2012.
One of Donald’s favorite things was taking Parfait, his rescued greyhound, to the dog park. He will be missed by his four-footed and two-footed friends there.
Besides his wife, two children and granddaughter, he will be greatly missed by his brothers and sister, Dennis Guindon and girlfriend Joyce Bell of Escanaba, Dave (Gloria) Guindon of Panacea, Fla., Mary (Mike) Stubblefield of South Holland, Ill., and Bill Guindon of Fort Worth, Texas.
He will also be missed by many nieces and nephews, cousins, friends and their families.
