Esky man faces criminal sexual conduct charges

ESCANABA – A 20-year-old Escanaba man, accused of sexually abusing three teen victims, is scheduled to make a plea in Delta County Circuit Court later this month.

Sean Michael Goodchild, of 412 S. 12th St., Escanaba, is charged with five counts of criminal sexual conduct with a person 13-15 years old. Each count carries a maximum sentence of 15 years in prison.

The charges stem from alleged incidents from July 2013 to Jan. 2, 2014, in Escanaba, according to the police complaint filed by Escanaba Public Safety.

Goodchild was arrested last month and originally charged with three counts of criminal sexual conduct. Two additional counts were added in district court on Jan. 22.

Court records were suppressed to the media and public at the district court level. All five charges were bound over to circuit court on Jan. 23.

Goodchild remains lodged in the county jail in lieu of a $30,000 bond. He is scheduled to make a plea in circuit court on Feb. 28.
