Trial date set for Farrey mom in child injury case

EL PASO – A trial has been scheduled for a Texas woman who fled to Escanaba with her family and was later charged in connection with the death of her baby in El Paso.

A jury trial has been set for Dec. 6 for Jenna Farrey, 20, of El Paso, according to El Paso County on-line court records. Farrey, who was arrested in Escanaba on Nov. 17 on a probation violation, was charged in late January with one felony count of injury to a child.

Farrey’s husband, Jeffrey Farrey, 22, is charged with the same felony in connection with the death of their five-month-old son Jackson whose body was found Nov. 20 buried in a New Mexico desert. The father’s trial is set for Oct. 3.
