(Gymnastics) Eskymos capture second at home meet

ESCANABA – The Escanaba Eskymos gymnastics team took second at a three-team home meet Tuesday night with 119.60 points. First place Marquette scored 121.40 and Negaunee placed third with 114.

Rylee Doucette captured a first place finish in valut, tying Negaunee’s Emilie Thorvaldsen with a score of 8.60. Teammate Aalysiah Spencer placed third with a 8.45 mark.

Doucette also placed second in her floor routine with a score of 8.45.

The meet was dominated by Thorvaldsen who also captured first place finishes in beam (8.80), floor (8.65), uneven bars (8.55) and all-around (34.60) Doucette placed third in all-around for the Eskymos with 32 points.
