Mary Anne Johnson

GLADSTONE – Mary Anne Johnson, 81, of 219 Delta Ave., Gladstone, passed away Friday, Feb. 21, 2014, at the St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba.

Mary Anne was born March 28, 1932, in Detroit, Mich., the daughter of Arthur and Ruth (Morris) Ebere. She was raised in Detroit where she was an excellent ice skater in her younger years.

She was united in marriage on March 27, 1952, in Waukegan, Ill., to Kenneth W. Johnson. They lived in several locations before retiring to Gladstone in 1987 from Alpena, Mich. Kenneth preceded her in death on Jan. 2, 1998.

Mary Anne’s hobbies included cooking, baking and watching soap operas. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family.

Survivors include: daughters, Sheila Bolton of Novi, Mich., and Bonita (Gary Marventino) Johnson of Escanaba; grandchildren, Dennis, David, Hayley and Chance; great-grandchildren, Kieren, Brendon, Morgan and Helena; sister-in-law, Gloria Johnson of Ft. Meyers, Fla.; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Mary Anne’s family will receive friends on Saturday, March 1, from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. at the Skradski Funeral Home in Gladstone. Mass of Christian Burial will follow at noon at the All Saints Catholic Church in Gladstone with Rev. Fr. Jamie Ziminski officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband Kenneth at the Fernwood Cemetery in Gladstone.
