Denis Wayne Ernest Ericson

EAST LANSING – Denis Wayne Ernest Ericson died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at the age of 85. He was born on Aug. 29, 1928, in Detroit, Mich. He was a member of the Williamston Ward of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He had no survivors.

He was a graduate of Adrian College, Adrian, Mich., and studied at Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary, Evanston, Ill. He was a former pastor of St. Andrew Orthodox Catholic Church, East Lansing, Mich., from 1953 to 1956. He was a certified social worker, and was chaplain of the Boys Training School in Lansing, Mich., for 18 years. He was a Life Member of the Michigan Academy of Science Arts and Letters and the Valaam Society of America.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Feb. 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home in East Lansing and at 11 a.m. at the church prior to the funeral services. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, Feb. 27, at 12 p.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 431 East Saginaw, East Lansing, Mich., with Bishop Landon Barlett presiding. Burial will be at East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos, Mich.
