Lillian Marie Way

ESCANABA – Lillian Marie Way, 87, Escanaba, passed away Tuesday evening, March 4, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital surrounded by family and friends. She was born on March 14, 1926, in Escanaba, the daughter of the late Peter and Anna (Klein) Reiffers. On July 26, 1946, she married the late Elwood “Cub” Way in Escanaba.

Lillian was a charter member of St. Thomas the Apostle Church, where she also taught CCD.

She enjoyed traveling, going to camp, playing bingo, cooking, sewing and her kittys, but most of all spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Lillian is survived by three children, Linda (Mike) Arsenault, Stephen (Lori) Way and Charles (Sally) Way; one brother, Stephen Reiffers; six grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; as well as nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one daughter, Mary Rhyndress; two brothers and four sisters.

Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 7, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Escanaba with parish prayers at 6:30 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 8, at St. Thomas the Apostle Church in Escanaba with Fr. Rick Courier officiating. A luncheon will follow Mass in the church parish hall. Burial next to her husband will take place in the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in the spring.
