Robert A. Foster
PESHTIGO, Wis. – Robert A. Foster, 82, of Peshtigo, passed away at his home March 5, 2014.
Born Sept. 5, 1931, son to the late John M. and Esther V. (Nelson) Foster, he graduated from Peshtigo High School in 1949.
Robert served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 and received the Korean Service Medal with three Bronze Service Stars, one Overseas Bar and the National Defense Service Medal. He was formerly employed at Badger Paper Mill, was a member of the Badger Retirees, the VFW and the American Legion. Robert enjoyed golfing, bowling, fishing, hunting, trips to the casino and the Packers.
He is survived by his sister, Eileen Servant, of Escanaba; nephew, Rick (Karen) Servant, of Escanaba; and niece, Dianne (Doug) Gartland, of Gladstone; five great nieces; one great nephew; and two great-great nieces.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John; brother-in-law, William C. Servant; and niece, Debra Jean Servant.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 9, at Berth and Rosenthal Funeral Home, 331 S. Ellis Ave., Peshtigo, Wis., from 2 p.m. until time of service at 3 p.m. with Pastor David Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Escanaba.
