John L. Venerable
ESCANABA – John L. Venerable, 65, of 1606 North 20th St., Escanaba, passed away Thursday, March 6, 2014, at Marquette General Hospital in Marquette.
He was born April 4, 1948, in Chicago, Ill., and was the son of James and Dorothy (Miron) Venerable. He grew up in Chicago and moved to Escanaba in 1980.
John married the former Renee Krupski on Jan. 6, 1984, in Escanaba. John was employed as a Daily Press carrier for 20 years until his retirement in 2012. He loved life and animals, enjoyed gardening, going to the casino, and watching old movies.
John enjoyed people and was a very social person.
John L. Venerable is survived by his wife, Renee; children, Dawn Venerable, of Escanaba, Paul (Sonia) Krupski, of Escanaba, Laurie Ketcham (Craig LaRose), of Escanaba; seven grandchildren, Lewis (Heather), Joshua, Stephanie, Brianne, Steven, Trevor and Amber; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brother, Mike Dziergas; sister, Sharon Skrobania; and grandson, Justin Lamb.
Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. on Monday, March 10, 2014, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Closing remarks will be held at 4 p.m. Monday at the Anderson Funeral Home Chapel by the family. Burial will take place in the Perkins Cemetery.
