Patricia Elizabeth Ellingson
PALO ALTO, Calif. – Aug. 23, 1940 Feb. 23, 2014, Patti Ellingson, a longtime resident of Palo Alto, Calif., passed away on Feb. 23, 2014, after a long and valiant battle with multiple sclerosis.
Patti was born in Manitowoc, Wis., of Gust and Janette Andrews, who later owned the Andrews Cafe in Escanaba during the 1950s.
While in high school,
Patti worked for attorney Nick Chapekis in Escanaba. She also worked for the Michigan Legislature in 1961. Patti married Mickey Ellingson of Escanaba in 1962. She worked for the Michigan Rehabilitation Office in Marquette while Mickey attended Northern Michigan University. Patti and Mickey moved to California after he graduated in 1964 and they settled in Palo Alto.
After working as a legal secretary for almost 20 years, Patti went to law school and passed the California Bar in 1982.
Patti practiced law for the next 30 years as a partner at Peters, Peters and Ellingson in Palo Alto.
Patti is survived by Mickey, her devoted husband of 54 years; children, Stephen (Pam) of Menlo Park, Calif., and Deanne Vanke (James) of Dunwoody, Ga., and six grandchildren.
