Robotics competition a plus for area

This week’s bouquets go to:

From Vickie Micheau, Escanaba:

“The Delta County Commerce Center salutes the efforts of the Escanaba School District and its staff for hosting a phenomenal event last weekend at the High School. The first FIRST Robotics Competition ever held in the Upper Peninsula was well organized and ran smoothly thanks to the many volunteers. You truly showed the rest of Michigan how our community works together to host first-class events. Thank you.”

From Marilyn Albrecht, Gladstone:

“I’m sending a bouquet to the robotics team and advisors for the FIRST robotic district event at the Escanaba Area High School, on Saturday. What a joy to see the dedication of the teams, advisors, school faculty, parents and volunteers.

Such a nice event for my three grandsons. Very proud of the Gladstone Robotics Team. Congratulations to Escanaba Area High School for sponsoring this great event.”

Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.

We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.

Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.

They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
