Fun in the snow at Webster School
If you can’t do anything about the never-ending snowfall, you might as well enjoy it. And the youngsters in the physical education classes of Debra O’Connell at the Webster School did just that. O’Connell, pictured with her students, shows them a pair of snowshoes that they will be wearing and how they can put them on. Approximately 50 pairs of snowshoes were purchased for the school district about five years ago with funds from a physical education grant valued at $20,000. According to Webster principal, Jude VanDamme, the snowshoes not only provide physical exercise for the students, but also allows them to get outside even when there’s lots of snow on the ground.
