Bond reduced for Farrey father in child death case
EL PASO, Texas – Bond was recently reduced for an El Paso man lodged in jail in Texas in connection with the death of his five-month-old son.
Jeffrey Farrey fled to Michigan last November with his wife, Jenna Farrey, and their older son, Blake. On Nov. 17, police found them at an Escanaba motel and arrested the father, who is a soldier, on an AWOL charge. The mother was arrested on a probation violation relating to a child abandonment charge.
While searching in a New Mexico desert on Nov. 20, police found the body of who they believe to be the couple’s youngest son, Jackson. Both parents are charged with injury to a child in connection with the child’s death.
Jeffrey’s bond was reduced last week from $1.5 million to a $1 million surety bond and a $500,000 personal recognizance bond requiring him to pay $100,000 to be bonded out of jail, according to the El Paso Times.
Jeffrey is scheduled for trial on Oct. 3. Jenna’s trial is set for Dec. 6.
Their son, Blake, is under the care of Child Protective Services in El Paso County.
