Nancy Victorson — Elk Auxiliary Member of the Year
ESCANABA – Elks Auxiliary member, Nancy Victorson, has been a member for 22 years. Since she joined, she has been active on all of the committees and has held the offices of treasurer and board representative.
Nancy has participated in the memorial service, donating food and helping with the luncheon and she has never missed the kids’ Christmas party nor the mother/daughter banquet. She has been on the ladies’ stag committee since the beginning and she can be counted on to help wherever and whenever needed. On St Patty’s Day and at Christmas time, she can be found at the piano bar helping the O’Petersons “singing the seasons.”
Nancy and her husband, Dennis, who is retired from New Page, have been married for 49 years. They are the parents of two grown children – Steve (Angie) and granddaughter Sydney, a senior at Bark River High School, and Debbie (Dave) Cordy and granddaughter Taylor, a senior at the Escanaba High School and grandson Matthew, a fifth grader at Escanaba Upper Elementary School.
Nancy has two brothers, Wayne and Tom Lafave, who are both life members of Lodge 354. The Victorsons are members at the Eagles Club where Dennis is a Golden Eagle, and of St Anne’s Parish.
In her spare time, Nancy enjoys feeding the birds, deer, rabbits, squirrels, pheasant, and whatever or whoever wanders onto their property. She also enjoys gardening – both flowers and vegetables.
Nancy expressed appreciation to the auxiliary for this honor saying, “It is most humbling and very much appreciated.”
