Tanya Ettenhofer — Elk Citizen of the Year
ESCANABA – Escanaba Elks 354 has named Tanya Ettenhofer Tanya as the 2013-14 Citizen of the Year. Tanya is a current Elk member who was born and raised in Escanaba. She is the daughter of Al and Connie Ettenhofer.
For Tanya, volunteering means living and working to build a stronger Delta County. She believes that helping others equates to investing in the community. She has committed her time to the Elks by helping with CHAT bowling, Special Olympics and has also adopted a veteran through the Adopt-A-Vet Program.
In addition to being an Elk, Tanya donates her time to many events/organizations such as Escanaba Christmas Parade, Ladies Day at the U.P. State Fair, Charity Ball, Rotary Wine tasting, Escanaba Public Safety golf outing, Escanaba Eskymo Fan Club, Lions Club events and Delta County Chamber events.
Tanya is a past Delta Force member and Delta County Jaycee, where she served as president several times and has received the Past Jaycee of the Year award for her continued help and assistance with the chapter.
Tanya resides in Escanaba with her daughter, Makayla. She is currently the director of Big Brothers/Big Sisters of the Bay Area and is also a proud “Big” to a “Little” in the program.
Tanya believes in community investing through the volunteering of her time. She’s always willing to lend a helping hand and rarely says no to any request for assistance.
