Hellcats come through for Red Cross
This week’s bouquets go to:
From the Delta County American Red Cross Disaster Team:
“The Delta County American Red Cross Disaster Team would like to thank the Escanaba Hellcats Roller Derby Team for collecting blankets at their match on Saturday, March 22, at the Wells Sports Complex. Blankets will be distributed in the future to residents of Delta County who may be displaced by fires or flooding.
From Rita Meunier, Escanaba:
“I have never written a letter to the Daily Press, but was compelled to do so. The Escanaba city workers have suffered a terrible winter. They have a tremendous job. Snowplowing, sanding, salting, fixing frozen pipes, opening storm drains and keeping alleys clear. Last fall we had a tree removed on our city side, they did a beautiful job. God bless you. Our hats are off to you.”
From the Committee for the Eskymo Fan Club Spring Fling:
“A huge thank you to the many businesses for supporting the Eskymo Fan Club in their recent annual fundraiser. It was again a great success, without their never ending support year after year this would not happen. It is greatly appreciated by the Fan Club. Thanks again. Please get out and support our businesses.”
From Marilyn Albrecht, Gladstone:
“I am sending a bouquet to the Escanaba Area Figure Skating Club for the great performance and “night at the movies.” The skating, costumes, scenery, and lighting were delightful. Thanks to all involved in the production. How pleased to have such wonderful skating coaches in our area. See you next year.”
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.
Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
