Community makes Fuzzbuster event a success
This week’s bouquets go to:
From the Gladstone Senior Class of 2014:
“The Gladstone Senior Class of 2014 would like to send out a bouquet of thanks to the wonderful community participation for our Fuzzbuster held on March 25. Thanks to the students, GHS staff, parents, businesses, and of course, The Delta Dunkers; you all made it a huge success. It was a blast.”
From Cookie Gascon:
“I want to personally commend the Delta County Road Commission for the terrific job they have done this winter. In spite of the several snowstorms and the several inches of snow we have accumulated. The road commission has been amazing to be able to keep our local roads safe and clear most of the time. Even those in the outlying areas. Your tremendous work ethic makes me proud to be a Yooper. God bless you.”
From St. Vincent De Paul Society of Gladstone:
“St. Vincent De Paul Society of Gladstone would like to thank the churches and organizations that helped out with another successful C.A.R.E. Project, Soup Suppers. We would also like to thank all those who came and enjoyed a bowl of soup and a sandwich with us. The C.A.R.E. Project 2013-14 raised $2,148 for the food pantry.”
From Marie Peterson:
“I thought it was quite ironic that after leaving the Farmer’s Market Saturday morning (March 29), I came upon the intersection of 3rd Avenue North and North 21st Street with the “Farmers Market” sign stuck into a snowbank that was higher than my car. Thank you dedicated vendors who consistently come each and every Saturday bringing fresh food, bakery, frozen meats and fish plus ingenious crafts to the Civic Center despite the tall snowbanks and freezing weather.”
Each Saturday the Daily Press salutes individuals and groups from our area who have had a very positive impact on the way we live.
We identify our bouquet recipients in one of two ways: from Daily Press news pages and from nominations sent in by our readers.
Mail us a postcard or letter identifying your nomination and putting into detail what they’ve done. Include your name, address, and phone number. Send nominations to Saturday Bouquets, The Daily Press, 600 Ludington Street, Escanaba, MI 49829.
They may also be sent to us by going to our Web site, www.dailypress.net, and clicking on the submit news button. Once there, click on “Bouquets” and follow the simple instructions.
