Suspect nabbed for indecent exposure

ESCANABA – A 29-year-old Rapid River man – charged with six counts of indecent exposure – remains lodged in Delta County Jail this morning in lieu of a $25,000 cash bond.

Thomas Anthony Lavigne, of 9897 County 513 T Road, Rapid River, was arrested Friday afternoon at his home after law enforcement investigated an indecent exposure incident reported earlier that day.

Delta County Sheriff’s deputies located Lavigne after receiving a detailed description of the suspect’s vehicle following Friday’s incident which occurred between Rapid River and Gladstone, explained Undersheriff Phil Griebel this morning.

Area law enforcement had been looking for the suspect for more than a month after receiving reports of a man exposing himself to different victims in Delta County.

Lavigne was arraigned in district court on Monday and was officially charged with one count of indecent exposure by a sexually-delinquint person. The felony carries a maximum sentencing of life in prison.

He was also charged with five counts of aggravated indecent exposure, each a high-court misdemeanor carrying a maximum sentencing of two years imprisonment and a $2,000 fine. Lavigne is scheduled for a preliminary examination in district court on April 17.
