Community makes events a success

This week’s bouquets go to:

From James R. Hansen, Escanaba,

“On behalf of Lakestate Industries, the Board of Directors would like to give the Green Bay Packer organization, our major sponsors, and the Delta County community a tremendous thank you for making the Packer Tailgate Party a huge success. Without all of your participation and efforts we would not have been able to succeed in raising funds that will make a positive impact on the future of those who have barriers to employment in Delta County. These funds will be used to enhance Lakestate Industries Organizational Employment Program, Community Employment Program and Student Services (Transition from School to Work) Program which makes such a positive difference for Adults with Disabilities. These programs allow participants to develop a positive work ethic, experience the rewards of real work and develop a sense of self-worth that gives meaning to their lives.”

Estelle Smyth, Lori Seawright, Kathy Bloniarz and Pat Rudden:

“The Escanaba Noon Kiwanis Club would like to thank everyone involved in making the 2014 Home & Garden Show and Pancake Days such a big success. We have a huge thank you for all of our fantastic vendors who highlight their wonderful products for our community. We also appreciate the community members who have supported us so well, including buying our pancakes for the past 57 years.

The weekend event would not be possible without many hours of services from our Kiwanians and their families, members of our Builders, Key and Action clubs, and many other friends of Kiwanis.

Thanks also goes to everyone who help make the event a success..

We’ll see you all at next year’s show on April 10, 11 and 12, 2015.”

From the Gladstone School Basketball Program

The Gladstone Basketball Program would like to thank all the businesses in Escanaba and Gladstone who donated and contributed items for our second annual 5-5 tournament. We would also like to thank all the volunteers who helped with the concession stands, door entrances, officials, set-up and clean-up crew, and to all the parents who brought in baked goods. With our community’s help, Gladstone School’s girls and boys basketball tournament was a huge success and the money raised will be used for Gladstone basketball programs. A special thank you to the entire Castor family for their countless hours and dedication in making this tournament another huge success.

From Carol Carlson, resource volunteer for Pregnancy Services of Delta County:

“Pregnancy Services of Delta County is very grateful to the nursing students call at Bay de Noc College for holding the recent baby shower for their simulated baby and then donating the gifts received to help us assist local families in the midst of a crisis with needed baby items. May God bless you all for your efforts and help!”

From Cindy A. Bender, Escanaba:

“A sincere thank you to the State Bank of Escanaba from the Bonifas Arts Center for the use of their beautiful tower display space to highlight some of the many fine art pieces to be auctioned off at the Arabian Nights – the annual art auction fundraiser for the Bonifas on Saturday, May 10 at 6:30 p.m.”
