Frances M. Anderson
ESCANABA – Frances M. Anderson, 78, of 6782 M Road, Escanaba, passed away Sunday, April 27, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital in Escanaba. She was born Nov. 9, 1935, in Garnet, Mich., and was the daughter of Clarence and Beatrice (Shirk) Barber. The family moved to Gladstone in 1942 and Fran graduated from Gladstone High School in 1953. The former Frances Barber married Wallace Anderson on July 14, 1956, at Bethany Lutheran Church in Escanaba.
Fran was employed for several years at the Gladstone State Bank. She was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church and the Women of the Evangelical Lutheran Church. Fran enjoyed knitting, crocheting, canning and attending horse pulling events.
Frances M. Anderson is survived by: husband, Wallace; son, John (Cris) Anderson of Rapid River; two grandchildren, Patrick (Jackie) Anderson of Gainesville, Ga., and Carrie (Andy) Poquette of Greenville, Wis.; four great-grandchildren, Anisa, Riley, Ella and Cailen; sister, Shirley Fink of Hurst, Texas; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held from 1 to 3:30 p.m. Friday, May 2, at the Anderson Funeral Home in Escanaba. Funeral services celebrating the life of Frances M. Anderson will be held at 4 p.m. Friday at the Bethany Lutheran Church with Rev. Dean Peterson officiating. A luncheon will be served following the funeral services in the church fellowship hall.
