Donna M. Farley

SPALDING – Donna M. Farley, 78, Spalding, passed away on Sunday, May 25, 2014, at St. Francis Hospital with her family by her side. She was born on Nov. 22, 1935 in Markesan, Wis., the daughter of the late Alvin and Nina (Mathes) Kearley Sr.

Donna graduated from Waupon High School in 1954 and then moved to Milwaukee, where she worked as a nurses aid in a large community hospital. In 1957 she met James Farley Sr. and they were married shortly after. In 1970, Donna and her family moved to the Upper Peninsula. She worked at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility as a nurses aid until her retirement in 2001.

Donna enjoyed gardening, knitting and crocheting. She was an active member of the Red Hat Society and she was also very patriotic and thought very highly of those who served for our country.

She is survived by her four children: Maureen (Tom Chmitt) Randall, Jay (Lisa) Farley, James (Hope) Farley Jr. and Jamie (Kimberly) Farley; one brother, Alvin (Mary Jo) Kearley; one sister, Judith O’Keefe; five grandchildren, Kenlyn, Jayson, Madison, Ella and Jenny; as well as many nieces and nephews.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, her husband and a brother-in-law, Thomas O’Keefe.

Friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. CST 0n Wednesday, May 28, 2014, at the Allo Coolman Funeral Home in Spalding. A funeral service to celebrate the life of Donna Farley will be at 12:30 p.m. CST on Wednesday at the funeral home with Pastor Chris Bergquist officiating. Burial will follow services in the Spalding Township Cemetery.
