EDITOR:

“Thank you to Dorothy McKnight for her articles taken from “Anniecat Chronicles.” She chose some writings from the book which depicted wartime in Sault Ste. Marie – a town heavily fortified because of the shipping which passed through the locks on the St. Mary’s River. Through no fault of hers, there are a couple of figures which need correcting. The exact number of troops sent to defend the Soo was 7,300. The exact number of barrage balloons needs some investigation … but “dozens” would not be a correct estimate. I would not want her readers to think, even considering my age, that I had tried to rewrite history!”
