Donald R. Kopecky
CARNEY – Donald R. Kopecky, 83, of Carney, passed away on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Pinecrest Medical Care Facility. Donald was born on Dec. 25, 1930, in Eagle, Wis., to the late Emil and Frances (Zajeck) Kopecky. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Armed Forces during the Korean Conflict. On April 15, 1953, Donald married the former Violet LaFave in Spalding. Donald worked for many years as a forklift driver for Guard Pallet Company. Donald enjoyed farming, bird watching, hunting and being in the outdoors. He further enjoyed traveling the south through Kentucky and Tennessee, but most of all Donald enjoyed being with his family. Donald was a member of St. Bruno Catholic Church.
Survivors include his wife, Violet of Carney; daughter, Linda (David) Miller of Wallace; two grandchildren, Tammy (Bryan) Aho of Taylors, S.C., and David Jr. (Rebecca) Miller of Carney; four great-grandchildren, Kiara and Zachary Aho and Marinda and Jordan Miller; and two sisters, Lorraine Anders of Carney, and Gladys Waranius of Fond du Lac, Wis.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Harvey Kopecky.
Family will receive friends at St. Bruno Catholic Church in Nadeau on Saturday, June 7, after 11 a.m. (CST) until time of military rites at 12:30 p.m. (CST) followed by Mass of Christian Burial with Father Michael Vichich officiating.
