Grief support group

sets meetings

ESCANABA – OSF Home Care offers Community Grief Group meetings on the third Thursday of each month in the second floor conference room of OSF St. Francis Hospital. The next meeting is scheduled for June 19 from 6-7:30 p.m.

The group offers a warm, caring and confidential environment that allows grievers the opportunity to be supported by others who understand.

No registration is required and open attendance is offered to the community. For more information, call 786-4456.

OSF Auxiliary Calendar

Raffle winners named

ESCANABA – Terry Alworden of Gladstone was the top winner in the June drawing of the OSF Auxiliary monthly Calendar Raffle drawing. He won $100. Other names drawn were: Matt Peterson and Jim Crawford, both from Escanaba, who each won $50, along with $25 winners, Arleen Martin of Bark River and Escanaba residents Lily Zorza, Irene Chernick and Bryan Marenger.

The June drawing was the seventh drawing of the 2013-2014 Calendar Raffle. A total of $3,700 will be given out during the year. Drawings for $25, $50 and $100 are held on the first Wednesday of each month. Names are put back in the drawing each month so individuals can win more than once up to $1,200 during the year.

The OSF St. Francis Auxiliary & Volunteer Program consists of approximately 150 volunteers who give of their time and talents to help patients and family members of OSF St. Francis Hospital & Medical Group.

TRIAD/RSVP meeting

Tuesday in Escanaba

ESCANABA – The next meeting of TRIAD/RSVP will be held on Tuesday, June 17, at 11 a.m. in Room 115 of the Escanaba Civic Center (EST).

TRIAD consists of Seniors and Local Law Enforcement working together. Agenda items include Fran Goetz update on Yellow Dot Program and Sheriff Ballweg who will speak about the National Association of TRIAD’s and their programs. Public participation is welcome.

Anyone in attendance who wishes to stay for lunch at the Senior Center is asked to call the Senior Center at 786-8850 least a day ahead for a reservation. A suggested donation is $3. The lunch menu will be baked pollock, au gratin potatoes, green beans and pears.

Ostomy Support Group

GREEN BAY, Wis. – There will be an Ostomy Support Group Meeting on Wednesday, June 18, at 6:30 p.m. (CST) at Aging and Disability Resource Center located at 300 South Adams Street in Green Bay.

Library Friends plan

June event

GLADSTONE – The Friends of the Gladstone Library (FOGL) annual Summer Card/Game Night will be Thursday, June 19, from 6:30-9 p.m. at the library. Participants are welcome to bring other games to play.

There will be a silent raffle featuring a “reading basket” and other items. Coffee and dessert will be served. Tickets are $10 and will be sold in advance at the library or from any FOGL member. To reserve a table, call Mary Martinson at 420-8585. All proceeds help support library programs for the children and community.

Senior center seeks

rummage sale donations

ESCANABA – The Escanaba Senior Center is looking for clean, usable household items to be donated for a rummage sale to be held Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20. Thusday’s sale will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and Friday from 9 a.m to 3 p.m.

Items may be dropped off at the Senior Center, located in the Bonifas Civic Center at 225 North 21st Street. Office hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., Monday through Friday. Proceeds will be used to benefit the Senior Center and its programs.
