Margaret Mae Boch
ESCANABA – Margaret Mae Boch, 90, of Escanaba, passed away on Thursday, June 12, 2014, at the Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.
She was born on July 9, 1923, in Escanaba, daughter of Louis A. and Clara (Derouin) VanEnkevort.
On Sept. 7, 1946, Margaret married Joseph A. Boch at St. George’s Church in Bark River.
Margaret was employed with Beemis Bag Papermill in Peoria, Ill., from 1947 to 1950. After moving to Escanaba, Margaret became a homemaker and enjoyed spending time with family and friends. She was especially proud of and loved her three grandchildren immensely.
Throughout their growing years, Margaret enjoyed taking her grandchildren out to eat, on shopping trips, and having them help in the garden.
She also enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting.
Margaret was a member of St. Anne’s Catholic Church.
Survivors include her children, Betty (Dave) Palmgren of Gladstone, and David (Gayle) Boch of Gladstone; and three grandchildren, Heatherlynn Palmgren, Joey Boch and Trevor Boch.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph; brothers, Henry, Art, and Louis VanEnkevort; and sisters, Endna Getzloff and Mary Ann Holochwost.
Visitation will be on Tuesday, June 17, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. at the Crawford Funeral Home in Escanaba. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 6 p.m. at St. Anne’s Church with Rev. Fran DeGroot officiating. A luncheon will follow in the church hall.
Burial will be in Bark River Cemetery.
The Crawford Funeral Homes are assisting the Boch family.
