Public Health receives grant for senior screening
ESCANABA – Public Health, Delta & Menominee Counties has received a grant to continue their Senior Screening Program in Fiscal Year 2014-2015. This grant is made available through the Upper Peninsula Area Agency on Aging.
“We are so pleased to be able to continue offering this valuable service to the senior citizens in our community,” said Debbie Poquette, Director of Nursing at Public Health. “The program provides not only several free tests but also counseling and encouragement for healthier living.”
The services are available to Delta and Menominee County residents over 60 years of age who have no health insurance or routine preventative health services or who have not been to a health care provider in the past year.
