Powers Girl Scouts earn Bronze Award

MARQUETTE – Area Girl Scouts were recently honored at a luncheon hosted by their Girl Scouts of the Northwestern Great Lakes Council. The event included a presentation on leadership by Martha Haynes, vice president for Advancement at Northern Michigan University.

Earning their Bronze Award were members of Troop 5178 of Powers. The Bronze Award is the highest award that can be earned by a Junior Girl Scout requiring 20 hours or more of community service. Their Bronze Award efforts included a project to improve the Pinecrest Nursing Home gardens.
