Duncan Steve MacLaren
RAPID RIVER – Duncan Steve MacLaren died unexpectedly Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Mayo Clinic-St. Mary’s Campus in Rochester, Minn. He was born on April 30, 1948, in Sault Ste. Marie, Mich.
Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his grandchildren and had a special love for hockey.
Steve is survived by his wife, Jennifer (Ratliff) MacLaren; son, Duncan Cory (Beverly) MacLaren; daughter, Stacy (Jerry) Fitzpatrick; sister, Sharon MacLaren (Arline); brother, Casey (Shauna) MacLaren; grandchildren, Megan MacLaren, Nate Fitzpatrick, Matthew MacLaren, Shelby Fitzpatrick, Brenden MacLaren and Maddie Fitzpatrick.
Uncle Steve was adored by many nieces and nephews and was known for his warm loving hugs.
He was loved very much by his family and his many, many friends.
Steve was pre-deceased by his parents, Duncan T. and Lillian (Steve) MacLaren; and infant siblings, Pamela and Michael.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, June 19, 2014, followed by a time of reflection at 7 p.m. at Clark Bailey Newhouse Funeral Home.
