Theresa M. (LaFave) Crepeau
ESCANABA – Theresa M. (LaFave) Crepeau, 85, formerly of Escanaba, passed away early Saturday morning, June 14, 2014, at the Elder Inn in Rapid River.
She was born on Oct. 22, 1928, in Escanaba, the daughter of Edward and Aurora (Gardner) LaFave. Theresa attended Escanaba Schools and graduated from Escanaba adult education classes in 1982.
Theresa Mary LaFave married Emmett Joseph Crepeau on June 28, 1947, at St. Anne’s Church in Escanaba. He preceded her in death on June 20, 1981.
She had been employed by the Bishop Noa Home for 12 years as a nurse’s aide.
She was a previous member of St. Anne’s Church and was currently attending St. Charles Church in Rapid River. Theresa volunteered for RSVP and was a senior companion for many years.
Survivors include: eight daughters, Sandra (Gerald) Newhouse, Barbara (Robert) Smith, Pat (Dennis) O’Connell, Judith (Danny) Hansen, all of Escanaba, Cheryl Burgess of Pembine, Wis., Jo Ellen (Robert) DuPont of Bark River, Rose (Christopher) Russell of Waseco, Minn., and Lori (Jon) Brayak of Bark River; 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren; brother, Gary (Pam) LaFave of Carney; and one sister, Hazel King of Escanaba.
In addition to her parents; her husband, Emmett; and one great-granddaughter, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Harold and Donald LaFave; and two sisters, Ethel LaFond and Viola LaForest.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery.
