Domestic violence case sent to higher court

ESCANABA – An Escanaba man has been bound over to Delta County Circuit Court on felony charges relating to a domestic violence incident earlier this month at an Escanaba residence.

Brandon Michael Patterson, 26, of 1112 Stephenson Ave., Escanaba, was arrested on two counts of unlawful imprisonment for allegedly holding at bay a female and a male on June 1, 2014, at a residence on Stephenson Avenue, according to Escanaba Public Safety.

According to court records, Patterson knowingly restrained the two victims by means of a dangerous weapon, a broken bottle.

In addition to the two imprisonment charges, each a 15-year felony, he has also been charged with two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon (felonious assault), each a four-year felony.

Patterson is also charged with interfering with electronic communications, a two-year count, for allegedly breaking a phone during the incident.

The court ordered Patterson to have no contact with the two victims.

All five counts were bound over to circuit court where Patterson can make a plea or schedule a trial.
