VA to host audiology information sessions

IRON MOUNTAIN – The Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center in Iron Mountain, Michigan, will be hosting their next monthly audiology informational session at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, July 2, for Veterans who have hearing loss, wear hearing aids, and/or experience Tinnitus (ringing in the ears). Any Veterans enrolled in VA health care and their families are welcome.

The group sessions meet from 1 to 3 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month. The sessions will help answer questions like, “Why can’t I hear normally? How do I clean my hearing aid? Why did I get hearing loss? Why are my ears ringing all the time?”

These sessions will help Veterans understand what hearing loss means for them and to discuss with audiology staff the strategies for overcoming the effects of hearing loss or ringing in the ears as well as communicating better with others.

These information sessions are held at the VA Center, located at 325 East H Street. Check-in is on the third floor. For more information or to sign up call 1(800) 215-8262, extension 32465.
