Celebrate the Fourth of July in Trenary

TRENARY – This will be the 79th year that the Trenary Lion’s Club is sponsoring the “Biggest Little Town Celebration in the World” on July 4. As a newly formed committee within the organization of the Trenary Lion’s Club, the group will blast off the event at 4 p.m. with an “eat in the street” chicken dinner that will include half rotisserie chicken, potato salad, baked beans, coleslaw, and dinner roll.

Folks will be “rocketing” into the music with Piq Poket from 6-7 p.m. and will then be “exploding” into the night featuring Gator and River Boys at 7-11 p.m.

A donation of $5 is requested at the entrance, which includes a door prize ticket that will go directly into funding the fireworks. There will also be a 50/50 drawing at 11.

To help with the cost of the celebration, there are collection cans at the Trenary Toast Cafe, Trenary Co-Op Store, Trenary Tavern, The Silver Dollar Bar, New Moon Bar in Eben, The Snack Bar in Eben, and the Upper Michigan Community Credit Union in Trenary.

Donations can also be sent direct to the Upper Michigan Community Credit Union at P.O. Box 215, Trenary, Mich. 49891, (payable to the Trenary Fireworks Fund).

For the celebration’s “Grand Finale,” individuals will have the opportunity to name a “star” at Trenary Toast Cafe, Trenary Tavern, The Silver Dollar Bar, Trenary Co-Op, and the Upper Michigan Community Credit Union.
