Delta Dems to

meet Monday at Bay

ESCANABA – The Delta County Dems will meet Monday, July 7, in Room 525 of Bay College. Social begins at 6:30 p.m. and business meeting follows at 7.

YMCA group fitness

sessions underway

ESCANABA – A four-week session of group exercise programming will begin on Monday at the Northern Lights YMCA Delta Program Center. Available classes include: gravity straps and core strength, guts, glutes and thighs, sit and get fit, water aerobics, Zumba, indoor cycling, various boot camps, and yoga classes.

Classes are offered at varying fitness levels, times, locations, and days. Registration and information are available at www.nlymca.com or by calling 789-0005. Financial assistance is available.

Senior exercise

classes being offered

ESCANABA – The Escanaba Senior Center is host to several exercise classes in July, beginning Monday, July 7. Some classes are free and open to the general public. Call 786-8850 to reserve a space.

Sit and Be Fit classes take place every Monday from 11-11:45 a.m. Led by YMCA instructors, this class will enable those with limited mobility to exercise while sitting.

Walk with Ease takes place Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 9-10 a.m. Any ability level is encouraged to start walking, moving, and learning to breathe more effectively for a healthier body.

Ongoing classes of Tai Chi are held Wednesdays from 1:30-3 p.m. Cost is $3 for seniors over 60, $5 for those under 60. New members always welcome.

Diabetic Support

Group meets July 8

ESCANABA – The Delta County Diabetes Support Group will meet Tuesday from 7-8 p.m. in Room 911 at the Heirman Center. Dr. Maria Araullo-Nagano will be speaking about vitamins and mineral use in diabetes.
