John Wiley Stack
SANTA BARBARA, Calif. – John Wiley Stack, 90, of Santa Barbara, Calif., passed away Monday, June 23, 2014, at a Santa Barbara hospital, with his family at his side.
John was born in Escanaba, March 28, 1924, to John King Stack and Cecile Wiley Stack. He was a co-pilot on a B-17, with the U.S. 8th Air Force, during World War II. John was a recipient of the Distinguished Flying Cross, and an Air Medal.
He is survived by three children, Kathy Conner (Arthur), Jane Russell (Jim) and John Stack; two grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; his brother and sister, Robert Wiley Stack and Ruth Stack Barnes; as well as many nieces and nephews.
A service of celebration will be held for John in September in Santa Barbara.
