Bobby ‘Bob’ K. Bidwell
KNOXVILLE, Tenn. – Bobby “Bob” K. Bidwell, 79, of Knoxville, Tenn., passed away suddenly July 2, 2014, in Iowa. He was born in Meigs County on Oct. 4, 1934, to Ed and Betty Sneed Bidwell.
Bobby was an 18-year veteran of the Army National Guard and the 278th Retiree Association. He was a member of the American Legion, the Moose Lodge and Elk Lodge. Bobby was a retired construction worker and a founding member of IBEW Local #270 in Oak Ridge. He enjoyed working as an electrician in many locations around the country and the world. He helped send man to the moon.
Preceded in death by his wife, Bobbie Holloway Bidwell; parents; and sisters, Nevada, Eula and Remell.
Survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Angela and Larry Askew; sons and daughter-in-law, Troy Bidwell, Christopher and Carla Bidwell; grandsons, Paul, Benjamin and Lucas; sisters, Leneve Mason, Toots Galyon and Carolyn Henson; brothers, Calvin Bidwell and Bill Bidwell; several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Click Funeral Home in Lenoir City, Tenn. Family and friends will gather at 11 a.m. Thursday in the Pleasant Forest Cemetery in Farragut for graveside services and interment.
