Gladstone advances after 19-0 win
BOYNE CITY – The Gladstone Major Girls’ Little League (age 11-12) All-Stars wasted little time taking charge in their state softball opener Thursday as they blanked Charlevoix 19-0 in four innings.
Gladstone, fueled by Morgan Letteriello’s three-run homer, scored four times in the first and exploded for 12 runs in the second.

Brittany Schwartz and Letteriello combined on a one-hitter. Schwartz struck out four in the first two innings. Letteriello fanned two and walked one in the next two frames.
Gladstone’s Sydney Herioux clubbed two doubles and drove in two runs. Schwartz added two doubles and an RBI. Maddy Ahlgren ripped a two-run triple and Jacinda Lippens had a two-run double.
