Woman faces embezzlement charge

ESCANABA – A 43-year-old Gladstone woman has been charged with embezzling more than $100,000 from an Escanaba business where she was employed.

Bridget Suzanne Lambrecht, of 9188 Wahl R55 Ave., Gladstone, was recently bound over from Delta County District Court to circuit court on one count of embezzlement $100,000 or more. She allegedly converted funds for her own use from Race Ramps at Brute Industries, 2003 21st Ave., Escanaba, where she worked as a secretary.

The felony carries a maximum punishment of 20 years in prison and a $50,000 fine or three times the amount embezzled, whichever is greater.

Lambrecht turned herself in to Escanaba Public Safety and was arrested on the charge on July 3. She posted a $5,000 cash bond and was released from police custody.

According to court records, Lambrecht allegedly embezzled more than $150,000 from the local business from 2012-2014.
