Donna Mae Tyynela

ROCK – Donna Mae Tyynela, 84, of Rock, passed away peacefully

Saturday, June 21, 2014, at Bishop Noa Home in Escanaba.

Donna was born May 19, 1930, in Newberry, the eldest child of Clarence and Florence (Hakes) Besaw. She was raised in Brampton and attended the Perkins school. On June 29,1949, Donna was united in marriage to the love of her life, Leslie A. Tyynela, in Brookfield, Ill. In September of 1958, Donna and Leslie moved to Trombly, where they made their home and raised their family.

Leslie preceded Donna in death on July 23, 1990. Donna enjoyed playing 500 rummy, seek-a-word and aggravation. She loved to spend time with her family and they know she is at peace and finally able to join the love of her life, Leslie, where together they are smiling down on all of them as they celebrate their 65th wedding anniversary.

Survivors include: one son, David (Michelle) Tyynela of Rock; two daughters, Shirley (Dennis) Boudreau of Rock and Linda (Jerry) Duchaine of Green Bay, Wis.; 10 granddaughters, Julie (Davey) Klein, Denise (Mark) Seymour, Rebecca (Daniel) Hall, Angela (Kevin) Cerkas, Megan (Josh) Gouin, Meredith Duchaine, Ashley (Tom) Ansay, Kirsten (Wes) Womak, Lindsey Tyynela, and Kayla Tyynela; 12 great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters, Ethan, Devlin, Keifer, Wyatt, and Myles Johnson-Klein, Evan, Makayla, Cain and Christian Hall, Abrahm and Isabel Seymour, Benjamin and Elliot Cerkas, and Jack Gouin. Additionally, there are many nieces and nephews who loved and kept in contact with their “Aunt Donna” along with many loving family members and friends who will miss her.

Donna was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Florence; husband, Leslie; three brothers, Art, Bob, and Ted Besaw; two sisters, Mary Krusic and Bonnie Jordan.

Donna’s family will receive friends on Friday, July 18, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m., at the Skradski Family Funeral Home in Escanaba. Mass of Christian Burial services will follow on Saturday, July 19, 2014, at 11 a.m., at St. Joseph

Parish in Perkins, with Rev. Fr. Jacek Wtyklo officiating. Luncheon will follow in the St. Joseph Parish Hall. Donna will be laid to rest at the Gardens of Rest Cemetery in Wells.
