Church plans breakfast

for Off-Road Races

BARK RIVER – The Bark River United Methodist Church will be serving breakfast on Saturday and Sunday for the Off-Road Races. The public is welcome to attend.

Saturday’s menu is scrambled eggs, sausage, French toast, fruit, toast, juice, coffee. Sunday serving will include biscuits and sausage gravy, ham, hash browns, fruit, toast, and beverages.

Cost is $8 for adults (12 & over) and $3 for children (5-11). Children under 5 are free of charge. Take-outs are available.

Monies raised help with camp scholarships.

Eagles to host

Sunday breakfast

ESCANABA – The Escanaba Eagles 1088 will serve breakfast from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday at the Eagles Hall 608 Ludington Street, Escanaba.

The menu includes scrambled eggs, sausage, ham, toast, hash browns, pancakes, French toast, coffee, milk, orange juice, and more.

Cost of breakfast is $6 for adults and $3 for children 5-12. The public is welcome to attend.

Firearms Intro Course

offered in Rapid River

RAPID RIVER – Delta County Gun Owners Association is offering a course aimed at those adults who wish to become familiar with basic firearms familiarization and operation. The course will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 26, at Black Duck in Rapid River.

GHS Class of 1969

plans reunion

GLADSTONE – The members of the Gladstone High School Class of 1969 will hold their 45th-Year Class Reunion on Friday and Saturday, Aug. 29 and 30, at the Gladstone Yacht Club. Reservations are required for the meet-and-greet on Friday and the dinner on Saturday. To make a reservation, contact Judy Ebbesen by Aug. 1.

Men’s Cursillo group

meets weekly at Stone’s

ESCANABA – A Men’s Cursillo group meets for fellowship every Friday at 8 a.m. at Stone’s Deli, 1222 Ludington Street in Escanaba. The group is open to any man in the community.

The group meets for about an hour and there is no formalized agenda.

Career Closet open

ESCANABA – The Career Closet will be open only by appointment throughout the summer. To schedule an appointment, call 428-1643, 241-6212, 789-0598 or 233-1275.

Career Closet provides appropriate clothing for both women and men for job interviews, working environments, presentations, etc., at no cost to those in need. A member of Altrusa will be available to assist with selections.

Volunteer Firemen

to host fund-raiser

MUNISING – The Tri-County Volunteer Fire Department will be holding their annual fund-raiser on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. This year’s fund-raiser will include an auction, silent auction, bucket auction, bake sale, raffle, junque sale, food, pop, beer, games, music entertainment and more.

The annual fund-raiser is the department’s only means to raise funds to keep the department running. The department serves parts of seven different townships in three counties for five protections. They are Munising, AAu Train, Nahma, Garden, Inwood, Mathias, and Masonville.

Raffle tickets are on sale now. Prizes this year will be $500 for first, a full-size quilt for second, $100 for third, $50 for fourth and fifth, and an afghan for sixth.

Drawings will be held at 5 p.m. on July 19, and individuals need not be present to win.

Donations are welcome, however, no clothes, tires, mattresses, car-seats, or T.V.s. will be accepted.
