HOUGHTON – Justin Sliva graduated from Michigan Tech University May 3 with a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering. He also received his certificate in electric power engineering.
A 2009 graduate of Escanaba Area High School, he also earned his pre-engineering from Bay de Noc Community College in 2011.
Justin is the son of Pamela and Walter Sliva Jr. of Escanaba. He is also the grandson of Celeste and the late Walter Sliva Sr. and Evonne and the late Leonard Boudreau all of Escanaba. His great-grandmother is Sadie Olsen of Powers.
Justin has accepted a job with Utility Lines Construction in Pontiac.
Local residents awarded LSSU degrees
ESCANABA – Five area residents have successfully completed their requirements for a bachelor’s degree and graduated in May from Lake Superior State University.
Graduating with a bachelor’s degree in accounting are Lisa Boudreau and Nicole Rossell both of Escanaba.
Awarded a bachelor’s degree in business administration-management are Jack Lipinski of Gladstone, Amanda McPherson of Rock, and Patrick Skorupski of Escanaba.
Lipinski and McPherson also earned a minor in marketing. Skorupski graduated cum laude.
The graduates were taking classes at Bay College, which offers LSSU bachelor of science programs in Escanaba through a partnership with LSSU.
This is the 25th year that LSSU has been offering degree programs through the Escanaba Regional Center, with more than 600 graduates.
