NEW FRANKEN – Carole Luecke, 70, New Franken, passed away on Saturday, July 19, 2014. She was born on April 1, 1944, in Ann Arbor, Mich., and was the daughter of the late Arnold and Mildred (Minty) Ottensman.
After graduating from Escanaba High School in 1962 she graduated from Northern Michigan University and received her LPN degree. She is one of the original founders of Dental Health Products, Inc. and worked there until her retirement in 2011.
Carole was an avid golfer and reader. She enjoyed traveling and gathering with family and friends. Everyone enjoyed her smile and laugh which brightened many rooms.
On Aug. 13, 1977, she married Richard “Dick” Luecke who preceded her in death on Oct. 31, 1985. Also preceding her in death was her companion of 11 years Ted “Chick” Roberts who passed away on Dec. 25, 1998.
She is survived by two sisters, Cindy (Kurt) Kickbusch and Kathy (Norm) Dittrich; five nieces, Tiffani (Rolando) Vargas, Erika Hall, Carrie Dittrich, Erin (Michael) Luehrs, Traci (Nathan) Green; two nephews, Kyle (Heather) Kickbusch, Kevin (Leah) Kickbusch; and her great nieces and nephews, Justin, Gabriela, Adryanna, Evan, Amaya, Viveka, Imogene, Jonah, Kayden, Karston, Kennedi, Harmony and Emberlee.
She is further survived by a brother-in-law, Robert “Bob” Obst and special extended family; Cheryl (Dave) Lundberg, Roy (Linda) Roberts, Jim (Debbie) Roberts, Dale (Leah) Roberts and their children and grandchildren.
Carole was also blessed with many, wonderful friends including her very special friends, Judy Carter and Patty Gerondale.
Carole’s sister Peggie (Hall) Obst passed away 11 months ago.
Friends may call at the Proko-Wall Funeral Home, 1630 E. Mason St., on Tuesday from 4 to 7 p.m. Funeral service 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

Carole will be sadly missed by all her family members, friends and former co-workers.
