Old Fashioned Christian Tent event begins Sunday

BARK RIVER – An Old Fashioned Christian Tent meeting will take place Sunday, July 27, to Friday, Aug. 1, at the Bark River Township Park.

Elks Lodge #354 to visit Bay Cliff Health Camp

ESCANABA – The Escanaba Elks Lodge #354 will be traveling to Bay Cliff Health Camp on Saturday, July 26. Any member who is interested or has any questions can contact Frank Berres at (906) 786-2965.

The Escanaba Elks Lodge #354 will also travel to the Iron Mountain VA Hospital on Monday, Aug. 5. If interested in joining, please meet at the lodge at 6 p.m.

Play groups offered in Hermansville

HERMANSVILLE – Play groups are being offered at North Central Elementary School in Hermansville this summer. They are scheduled to take place each Monday from 9:30-11 a.m. and are open to chlldren between the ages of 1 and 4.

The next scheduled session is July 28.

The groups will provide an opportunity for parents to play with their child and to socialize with other parents and children. The event will feature stories, music, creafts, snacks and playtime.

Manistique Area Kiwanis presents ‘Beauty Lou’

MANISTIQUE – The Manistique Area Kiwanis, with support from the Michigan Council for the Arts and Cultural Affairs/CUPPAD and with the Missoula Children’s Theatre, presents “Beauty Lou and the Country Beast,” an original country western adaptation of the classic fairy tale “Beauty and the Beast” on Aug. 2 in Manistique.

Auditions for the production are open to children entering 1st through 12th grade and will be held at the First Baptist Church in Manistique on Monday, July 28, at 1 p.m. No advanced preparation is necessary and most students will be required to rehearse approximately four hours each day. Assistant directors will also be cast to aid in rehearsals throughout the week and to take on essential backstage responsibilities.

“Beauty Lou and the Country Beast” will be presented at the Manistique High School Auditorium on Aug. 2 at 3 and 7 p.m. Admission is $5 per person, which includes both performances. Children ages four and under are free.

Multiple sclerosis support group meets Monday

ESCANABA – The Delta County Multiple Sclerosis Self Help Support will hold their monthly meeting at 7 p.m. on Monday, July 28, at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 600 South Lincoln Road, in Escanaba.
