Stanley Forbes Lancaster

NAPLES, Fla. – Stanley Forbes Lancaster, 90, of Naples, Fla., formerly of Arlington Heights, Ill., died peacefully Friday, July 18, 2014. Stanley Forbes Lancaster’s life represents the ideal of the American dream.

He immigrated from his native Canada and was raised in the small town of Nahma, Mich. He was a World War II veteran (Royal Canadian Air Force) and college graduate (MTU, WMU, Harvard Business School) and in his early years also served as a high school teacher and basketball coach in Cooks prior to beginning his successful career as vice president of International Harvester.

In the midst of his corporate ascent he was a husband to Doris Moore Lancaster and a father to daughters Laurel Lancaster, Sharon Del Re, Debra Jenrette, Catharine Bremer (Rick), Patricia Lancaster and Gail Lancaster. In retirement, he enjoyed the role of grandfather to Gary Del Re, David Del Re (Jordan), Megan Turner (Okey), Timothy Shea, Thomas Jenrette (Lauren), Ashley Jenrette (Emily), James DeGiulio (Shannon), Lauren DeGiulio, Nicholas DeGiulio (Lauren), John DeGiulio, Alison Hack, Cassandra Jones (David), Zachary Dorsen and Vanessa Gill, plus many great-grandchildren while living out his dream as an outdoorsman in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan.

Along the way he made lasting impacts on colleagues, family members, and friends with an unmistakable style and charisma.

Preceded in death by wife Doris Lancaster (nee Moore) and daughter Patricia (Poy) Sue Lancaster.
