Jeffrey Paul Rosten

ISHPEMING – Jeffrey Paul Rosten, 44, Ishpeming resident, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, July 24, 2014, at his home in Ishpeming.

Jeff suffered from severe depression for over 20 years. He fought so hard and tried every treatment available. Because he suffered with it for so long he came to believe there would never be any relief from the pain and heartache.

Jeffrey was born Aug. 2, 1969, in Ishpeming to Paul and Arlene (Werner) Rosten. Jeff grew up in Negaunee where he graduated from Negaunee High School, class of 1987. Jeff graduated from NMU in 1992 with an associate of science degree in computer aided drafting and in 2003 with a bachelor of science degree in finance (Magna Cum Laude). Jeff was currently employed at DLP-Marquette General Hospital where he worked for the past 25 years. He currently was working as a manager, Revenue Cycle, Financial Services.

Jeff was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee. He loved history, especially local history of old homes and old mine sites where he enjoyed exploring. He enjoyed four-wheeling and snowmobiling along with fishing, deer hunting, and partridge hunting. One of Jeff’s greatest joys was spending time with his beloved nephews.

Jeff is survived by his parents, Paul and Arlene Rosten of Negaunee; two sisters, Linda Rosten of Canton, Mich., and Renee (Michael) Bilkey of Gladstone; 2 nephews, Jacob and Joshua Bilkey, along with numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Jeff was preceded in death by his grandparents, Elmer and Elma Rosten and August and Mayme Werner.

A memorial service will be held at 5 p.m. on Tuesday, July 29, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Negaunee with Rev. Steve Solberg officiating. Jeff’s family will greet relatives and friends at Immanuel Lutheran Church on Tuesday from 3 p.m. until the time of service at 5 p.m. A luncheon will be held in the church fellowship hall following the service.
