Man fires shots at police
MENOMINEE TOWNSHIP – A Menominee Township man was arrested this weekend after firing at police officers responding to the report of an intoxicated man with a gun at a residence.
Dave Patrick Thompson, 55, was arraigned in Menominee County District Court on Monday and charged with intoxicated use of a firearm, reckless discharge of a firearm, and domestic violence.
The charges stem from an incident on Saturday night when Menominee County Sheriff’s Department deputies were dispatched to a Menominee Township residence at 8:50 p.m., according to a news release from Sheriff Kenny Marks.
Upon arrival at the home, officers reported being fired at and set up a perimeter around Thompson’s home. A sheriff’s investigator established phone contact with the suspect and successfully negotiated the man’s surrender, stated Marks.
Deputies seized several firearms and a large amount of ammunition.
